July 2020 Round-Up Post

This month I finished reading four books, which was my goal for the month! I just spent about an hour cleaning up my StoryGraph Beta profile, so it reflects my reading habits and goals a little better. It definitely still needs work but I much prefer their review system to Goodreads and I’m happy to be unplugged from Amazon in one more way.

I finished reading Loki: Where Mischief Lies (Mackenzie Lee), Tipping the Velvet (Sarah Waters), How to Be an Anti Racist (Ibram X. Kendi), and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Douglas Adams), which was both a re-read and my bedtime book for the kids. I reviewed Loki and Queen’s Peril (E.K. Johnston). Additionally, I started reading Best Evidence by David S. Lifton, Male and Female by Margaret Mead, and Cleopatra by Stacy Schiff.

This month I also signed up for NetGalley to read and review some advanced reader copy books online. I have started using my kindle fire again, which is nine years old and doesn’t get nearly enough love anymore. I read The Highly Sensitive Person’s Guide to Dealing with Toxic People, which is out this October, and requested two YA books from author D.E. Night, whose publicist reached out to me on Instagram.
